One of us Only.......

The topic looks bit funny, but yes that was the statement which made us(me & my 4 college friends) bit popular during my college days. Till we enter into our 2nd year of college life, we were very silent students and also we were one among the so called fruits. Days went on and we have completed our 1st year as a fruit cum studious guys. Most of my friends including me had a habit of going to our college for food during initial days.. Our college is renowned for serving a good tasty food(both Veg & Non-veg).. Break-fast and lunch was awesome.. We are lucky students..

Now we have stepped into our 2nd year of engineering, we have lot of subject based theories and lab sessions to overcome(Oh my God).. We were so busy in continuing with our sighting profession very seriously. Never left a senior also on this aspect. Got a chance to move with new bunch of friends.. Wow that was a good time.. We too had lot of lab practical sessions as a part of syllabus in our 2nd year. One among them was our 'Electrical Lab session'. We are ECE students and we had to clear our EEE electrical lab to complete our 2nd year. No one was very sure how the circuits and electrical devices looks like, though we had a theoretical idea.

When we entered into our electrical lab for the first time, there was a batch formation to do the practical session. That was the time I joined with 4 of my friends to form a 5 member batch for doing the lab exercises. There was demo session held and now its time for us to do the practical session by our-self to show the output. We never listened to any demo session as usual. Every batch started their work and we 5 of us also brought the necessary devices and instruments to start doing the experiment. All were bit tensed as it is a EEE lab and voltage supply for all the circuits is 220V(home voltage supply). We all were expecting some shocks. All 5 of us were involved in some part of work during the lab session. One guy brought the needed components, another fellow started giving the connection based on the diagram, another fellow was adjusting the values of all electrical components, one guy was checking the connections in parallel, the last guy is the lucky guy to switch on the power supply..


Connections were given, circuit is ready and now its time to start the power supply and supply is given now. There is a electrical device by name rheostat to control the current supply. We have used that device in our circuit to control the current flow. By mistake one guy from our batch(name not to be shared) has started operating that device wrongly and current supply started flowing in more. Within some fraction of time, more current started flowing into the device and it has reached the maximum current tolerance level. What else it will do then... The device got burst-ed finally.

Oops!!! Not only it got burst-ed but also it went up flying in the air and then it fell down by making a huge noise. All in our batch got shocked and very scared after seeing this. But unfortunately, our other near-by batch mates have seen these device flying and they have started appreciating our master-piece of work with a huge round of applauds(claps) in front of our EEE lab staffs. So we 5 of us got caught red handed. So its time for us to meet to EEE HOD and other lab staffs for a interrogative sessions. All the staffs have started shooting the same question on 5 of us. The Question was 'Who among your 5 ppl have done this act??'.. It was a timing and we all 5 have replied to all of them with the same Answer. The answer was bit funny, but that was the answer we have to give to protect all 5 of us.
The Answer what we have given them was 'One of us Only'.


After hearing this rubbish answer all staffs got irritated and they have started asking each and everyone of us separately the same question. This time also our Answer was the same to all. We have irritated them to the max and they have decided to give us 3 days of office duty. Which means we 5 of us should not attend any theory class and we have to stand in front of the EEE lab for 3 days. We have decided to accept that valuable golden offer and we stood for almost 2 days. Those 2 days were very memorable, as we 5 of us had a chance to sight all the department girls of all the years who had EEE lab sessions. Should thank EEE HOD for giving us a nice opportunity. During the course of 2nd day, one of the EEE lab-in-charge staff asked us the same Question and again our Answer was 'One of us Only'. He too got irritated and started threatening us by telling that the circuit what we damaged was around 5000 Rs. In fact we got to know at last that the cost to repair the circuit what we have damaged was around 200 Rs only. Bull-shit lab-in-charge cheated us.


Our 3 days of Office Duty got completed and now its a boring time. We have to attend our theory classes. We have to sit inside the class for that. We again went to lab and stood outside for 4th day to bunk the theory classes. This time EEE HOD is very cautious. He called and told us that our punishment period was over and now its time for us to attend the class. We 5 of us went half-halfheartedly in to our class. All my friends have started asking lot of Questions. Questions like 'What happened??' , 'How you came out of official duty ??', 'How much fine was collected from you ppl'?.. At last again we heard the same dirty Question from one of my friend. The Question was 'Who among you 5 ppl have done the mistake ??'.. Our answer to my friend was again 'One of us Only'..

'One of us' is a valid answer... But we itself don't know why we replied as 'One of us Only' to all.. May be to confuse everyone.
